Exosomes are membrane-bound extracellular vesicles, characterised by tetraspanin surface markers (CD9, CD63, CD81) together with cytosolic markers including Alix, TSG101 and FLOT1.
EXO-180 is derived from umbilical cord blood plasma, endothelial stem cell derived — the same starting material as EXO-90, and a different one from the Wharton's jelly line. It is the highest particle count presentation RENOVÓ supplies at 180 billion, and the only exosome product supplied cryopreserved rather than lyophilised. Lyophilisation and cryopreservation are different stabilisation methods with different handling requirements; EXO-180 ships and stores frozen.
Reconstitution is not required. Thawing, route and administration are determined by the treating clinician.
